This is Champ's posthumous CD - created mostly while he was dying and finished by his friends shortly after his death. Champ never had his own solo release until this CD. He was the ultimate sideman - always helping everyone else with their music but never claiming the spotlight for his own music.
Champ wanted to leave us with something just from him to us - his legacy - and thanks to his wonderful friends and fellow music professionals - here it is.
His CD release party, held not long after his death, was bittersweet. There was tremendous joy in the gifts that he left for us - and there was tremendous grief for a loss that we'll never quite get over.
