Welcome to my Honky Tonk Angels' way of living!

I started this webzine as a means of sharing the female perspective on the music scene and life. What is the female perspective on music? It is how the music makes us feel, it is how the music helps us connect to something bigger than ourselves. It is about the intimate connection between the musicians, their music, and the audience - it is about the give and take of energy between us. It is about the people we meet and the places we go - the atmosphere - the vibe - the experience.

It is not about the 'Next Big Thing' mentality. We don't choose bands and their music based on how high the probability is they will become famous. It's not about one-up-manship, the notion of being able to boast that you were at a particular show that makes you more special than the people who didn't get to go to that show. It's not about criticism. The world is full of people saying what is wrong about each other. How about we tell each other what is right and good instead?

I'm a natural Honky Tonk Angel, having grown up in my Daddy's tavern which was just one block away from our house. For me, the honky tonk has always felt like my second home. One of my earliest memories is dancing to the jukebox at 'Hainline's Corner Tap'.

We hope you have fun as you explore and experience the zine and that your spirit is uplifted by our message.

We look forward to receiving your feedback, and we remind you to "Just be nice..." as it says on the door to the Texicalli Grille.

Now, let's go honky-tonkin'...
